Local Girl Missing by Claire Douglas Book Review

Seventeen years ago, 21-year-old Sophie Collier vanished without trace. Her best friend, Frankie Howe is devastated at the disappearance of her friend and after a phone call from Sophie's brother Daniel, confirming their worst fears, she returns to her hometown of Oldcliffe to be with him. She faces a difficult task ahead when she is determined to go with him to identify his sister's remains.

Claire has woven an intricate tale in this book and she has cleverly weaved the two timelines together. Each chapter will leave you wanting more. Frankie is an intriguing protagonist and she will make you sit right on the edge of your seat. It is clear that there are a lot of unanswered questions surrounding Sophie's disappearance and Frankie is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Claire paints a vivid description of the shadowy town and her writing keeps you turning the pages. She delivers an outstanding twist which I certainly didn't see coming. There is no doubt, you will enjoy this book!
